If you are a foodie then it is impossible to ignore the
delicious and spicy Punjabi food. The food has virtually taken over the whole
country. Being a Delhi boy, there is no dearth of the Punjabi food. With a
profound Punjabi population living in the capital, one would get virtually
every dish, from the famous and traditional Makki-di-roti and Sarson-Ka-Saag to
the delectable and extensive non-vegetarian menu. Though all the dishes are
hard cord Punjabi, still there is something missing in it. I am not talking
about the ingredients but the essence and feel by which they are prepared. For
that, I have managed to carve out a holiday trip
to the beautiful state of Punjab.
The aim was to explore and discover the authentic taste of
the food. I had targeted the Punjabi Dhabas located on the highways. Then a
visit to the famous historic city of Amritsar, and at last a visit to one of
the Punjabi village. The food at the Dhabas was really awesome and when
compared in taste could beat a five-star hotel. Amritsar is a foodie heaven and
one should taste the non-vegetarian cuisines like Tandoori Chicken, Afghani
Chicken and Fish Pakoras. Lastly a visit to one of the Punjabi village solely
to enjoy the globally famous delicious Makki-di-roti and Sarson-Ka-Saag. For
foodies, Punjab holiday packages are
a great way to explore and divulge the cuisines.
